- Abstract
This syndrome is readily distinguishable from other syndromes affecting saccadic accuracy (i.e. due to lesions in the oculomotor vermis or the fastigial nucleus) by the presence of the limb ataxia (contralateral to the saccadic hypermetria), which is known to accompany lesions of the superior cerebellum and the brachium conjunctivum [[12]]. Two more patients with hypermetric saccades contralateral to a BC lesion were reported by Frohman et al. [[9]], one with limb ataxia ipsilateral to the BC lesion (i.e. similar to the present case) and one with bilateral limb ataxia. Effects of lesions of the oculomotor vermis on eye movements in primate: saccades.
