- Abstract
The article presents a study which investigates the synthesis of 4'-ethynyl-2-flouro-2'-deoxyadenosine (EFdA), an anti-HIV nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor. The study used diastereoselectivity and glycosidation analyses, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) analysis, and spectrum analysis. Results show that the synthesis of EFdA which required 18 steps has obtained a modest overall yield of 2.5%.
