- Abstract
This article discusses the author's relationship with Virginia Adell, also called Ginna. She was the daughter and only child of a Navy officer. Their city schoolmates were far more learned on the city way of life, and except for some school events to which they were all invited, their lives remained distant and remote from the normal city life. While other children attended public schools, he, together with his brother, enrolled at St. John's College, a Catholic school for boys which offer a certain amount of military training for discipline. He recounted vividly their first date and dance. During the war, they exchanged letters, and this further enhanced their relationship.
