- Abstract
The article presents some of the highlights of the 56th Annual Association of Mathematics Teachers of New York State (AMTNYS) Conference with the theme "What Are the Odds?" held in Saratoga Springs from October 26 to 28, 2006. Doctor Alain Kaloyeros of the State University of New York (SUNY) shared his vision of the nanotechnology and job opportunities for students. The program entitled We all Use Numbers Every Day demonstrated how the study of mathematics extends beyond algorithms.
