- Title
On Hands.
- Authors
Lujan, Alfredo Celedon
- Abstract
The article relates how the author taught writing and composition to his 12-year-old students using his hands and Nora Naranjo-Morse's poem "My Father's Hands." The author accidentally spilled his coffee so that the students would comment on his old hands, giving him the opportunity to launch his lesson on writing poems about hands. The students first described orally hands that interested them, such as their parents' hands, basketball players' hands and dirty hands, and then later composed poems about hands.
