- Abstract
The author talks about Joseph M. Juran, a proponent of quality management. His educational and career background is noted. In 1951, Juran published the first edition of his "Quality Control Handbook," which attracted the interest of the Japanese Union of Scientists and Engineers. Some of his major contributions to the theory of quality management are the Pareto principle, management theory and the Juran trilogy. Information on The Juran Institute is also presented.
