- Title
Ion Nitriding of Tantalum and Niobium Alloys.
- Authors
Panaioti, T. A.
- Abstract
The article presents information on ion nitriding of tantalum and niobium alloys. Niobium and tantalum are better than molybdenum and tungsten with respect to ductility and corrosion resistance in aggressive media. The use of glow discharge widens the possibilities of nitriding of niobium and tantalum, because in this case the quality of the layer is controllable and it is possible to harden parts with complex configuration including internal surfaces of long-length pipes and deep holes with a small diameter.
