- Abstract
It is worth noting that all the 11 compounds ( B 1-11 b ) were isolated here for the first time from I P. pumila i , while compounds B 1 b , B 2 b , B 10 b , and B 11 b have never been reported from the genus I Pinus i . A portion of the resultant EtOAc fractions was subjected to silica gel column chromatography and eluted with a gradient solvent system of chloroform-methanol (95:5->5:95) to give eight main fractions (Frs. Fraction E SB 4 sb was separated by a silica gel chromatographic column using CHCl SB 3 sb -MeOH (5:1) and further separated by RP-18 using gradient mixtures of MeOH-H SB 2 sb O (5:1) to afford yellowish amorphous compounds B 3 b (48 mg), B 4 b (15 mg), and B 5 b (24 mg). Fraction E SB 7 sb was at first washed by a Sephadex LH-20 column using MeOH as eluting solvent and then further purified by preparative HPLC to obtain the amorphous compounds B 10 b (52 mg) and B 11 b (46 mg).
