- Title
Editorial Commentary: Art and Decolonial Love.
- Authors
BLACK, CHARLENE VILLASENÑOR
- Abstract
The commentary discusses how Chicana artists have historically used art as a means to create and foster decolonial love, drawing from the examples of the first Chicano movement mural created by Antonio Bernal in 1968. The mural, consisting of two panels, depicts Indigenous people, revolutionaries, and alliances between Black and Brown peoples, visualizing decolonial love by bringing historical wrongs to light, fighting against injustice, repairing community, and envisioning more just futures.
