- Abstract
The article in the Journal for Medical and Health Law deals with the European Order of Social Security (EOSS), which has been signed by Austria but not yet ratified. The EOSS is a treaty aimed at gradually improving social security in the member states of the Council of Europe. The article provides an overview of the different parts and standards of the EOSS, including medical care and the protected group of individuals. Waiting periods for entitlement to certain benefits are also established. The revised EOSS has not yet been ratified by many states, but Austria could potentially support the revised order in the future.
