The article examines the complex rules of Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL), the exemptions, as well as the documentation requirements and enforcement of the law. Topics discussed include provisions of the Controlling the Assault of Non Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act of 2003; purpose of CASL; and disproportionate extraterritorial impact of Canadian law on U.S. businesses.
