After returning to Anatolian lands again, he joined Halvetî sheikh Elmalılı Ümmî Sinan and completed his course in the sect from him. Niyâzî, who was rewarded with the caliphate by his Sheikh, became the head of the Halvetî Sufism school after the death of his sheikh.
