- Abstract
Researchers have shown substantial interest in understanding Electronic word of mouth (eWOM). Therefore there is significant research work in this area that helps us to address various concerns related with eWOM. However, with the rapid growth of e- retailing; increasing use of internet for information processing; and proliferation of social networking websitesthere remains many unanswered managerial and research questions. Moreover there is need to consolidate and synthesize the research workthat has been done in this stream of research. This paper is an attempt to consolidate the research work done in this regard so as to highlight the key consumers' motivations for providing eWOM. An agenda for future research in this field has also been discussed.
