- Abstract
Citizenship is a state of human beings related to current society, which demands a specific position in order to think, decide and act in search of plausible and constructed solutions between all, in a condition of equality and to the integral development of human beings, enabling a democracy and a democratic thinking that promotes active participation, the right to take decisions in common projects, and to be benefactors of the necessary conditions provided by the state. Adela Cortina has been writing about a variety of topics in her column for the newspaper El Pais, and amongst those brought back is that of citizenship, given that it is a commitment to training for current times, that require the understanding that we no longer live in provinces, but in a global village, where many cultures, ideologies and thoughts coexist, which involves analyzing the various dimensions of the citizen (media, society, culture, economy) and adjectives that theorists have added to the concept of citizen. In this article the vision of Adela Cortina about citizenship is expressed, synthesized and inferred, expressed exclusively in her newspaper column, being that it is beyond the scope of this text to make comparisons with other works she has devoted to this subject.
