- Abstract
The article focuses on the court records of sexual offenses, with particular consideration on telling the truth about sex in Paris, France in the late medieval period. It discusses records of criminal jurisdictions of the Archdeacon of Paris called ex officio or office cases by other courts, which involve sexual and matrimonial offenses. It explores a discussion by Charles Donahue on the prevalent narrative pattern of the seduced, abandoned and wronged woman.
