- Abstract
The article explores the consequences of the abolition of death penalty in Great Britain and the failure of the Parliament to provide no alternative penalty except a provision allowing a trial judge to suggest a minimum prison time. Topics covered include the provision of Murder (Abolition of Death Penalty) Act 1965, the judicial disagreement in the last 50 years that has temporarily unsolved the status of the crime of murder in the country, and Britain's adoption of the whole life order.
