- Abstract
The article focuses on a study conducted to establish patch test dilution of glyceryl thioglycolate which is used in acid permanent waving products. It is found to sensitize hairdressers. In order to establish its correct patch test dilution, 1% and 5 % pet. were compared by testing consecutive hairdressers and consecutive patients who were being patch tested. As per results, 1 % pet. is the preferred dilution for patch testing. The dilution is found to be not an irritant. Prepared dilutions need to be refrigerated to prolong shelf-life.
