- Abstract
The article discusses the results of the short-term Borderlands Experience courses at the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP), which aims to feminist civic engagement opportunities for the students. It states that students participated in the critical analysis of their community which enabled them to envision lifelong learning. It concludes that community engagement includes awareness of how community, institutions and individuals negotiate power.
