- Abstract
Rural women tend to buy goods as their urban counterparts do for their consumption. The awareness of rural women has also increased to a greater extent. The advertisement plays a vital role in enhancing the awareness level of rural women consumers to understand the products available in the market, their prices, their features, etc. The tastes and preferences of rural women are influenced by the advertisement. The role of advertisement in changing the buying behavior of rural women is crucial. The message conveyed in the advertisement, celebrities and the values of advertisement attract the rural women consumers to a greater extent. The advertisers focus on these rural women in order to increase the market share of the products being advertised. The marketing becomes successful when the target audience has been influenced by the advertisement in a positive manner. The advertising agencies have also grown up in the recent past due to the increased demand for them. They create and develop innovative advertisements for their customers, depending upon the nature of the products being advertised. This paper analyses the impact of advertisement on the buying behavior of rural women.
