Mother-daughter white piedra coinfection: a result of homemade hair cream use? Dear Editor, White piedra is a superficial mycosis caused by pathogenic species of the I Trichosporon i genus, especially the I Trichosporon beigelii i .1 Its clinical presentation includes lesions in macroscopic whitish nodules that invade the hair shaft.2 The world's most prevalent distribution is in temperate and subtropical areas. Itraconazole therapy for white piedra affecting scalp hair.
