Lola Rodríguez de Tió o el perpetuo viaje. Apuntes patrios para una lectura de lo "transcaribeño".
- Authors
CUESTA, MABEL
- Abstract
The work of poet and political activist Lola Rodríguez de Tió is reborn out of debates on the transnational discourse and, in the case of the Caribbean region, Benítez Rojo's notion of the repeating island. The affective equity overcoming Cuba and Puerto Rico is presented in its poetic and epistolary work. However, neither Rodríguez de Tió's temporary stay in New York nor the complexity of the work she produced there has been studied with the same level of interest. The difficult double-exile framework will be part of this work which deepens the role played by the experiences gathered there during the growth of a new Trans-Caribbean conscience. The texts used are the ones Lola Rodríguez de Tió wrote during her stay in the United States between 1895 and 1899.
