VILLANI, STEFANO
- Abstract
The article discusses two books that focus on different aspects of historical events. The first book examines the relationship between Genoa and Venice during the Crusades, highlighting the involvement of private citizens in campaigns that were not officially supported by their respective city governments. The second book explores the strategies used by Roman authorities to convert "heretical" foreigners between 1580 and 1750, emphasizing the changes that occurred over time and the diverse subjects involved in the conversion efforts. Both books provide valuable insights into the historical context and offer new perspectives on these topics.
