- Abstract
The article reports on the successful treatment of bilateral peroneal tendon subluxation using fiberglass lateral malleolar support among young athletes in the U.S. It is evident that nonoperative techniques in treating peroneal tendon dislocation and resultant subluxation are often unsuccessful. However, it is proven that the process is an effective way of stabilizing the peroneal tendon from subluxing even at a younger age. There is also a maximum possibility that the athlete may be able to continue participating in high impact sports. Surgeons are confident that malleolar cup technique will offer great chances for nonoperative intervention with tendon subluxation.
