- Abstract
Objective: Outline the socioeconomic profile of users of a cardiac rehabilitation program. Method: This is a study with a quantitative approach and a descriptive design, carried out with users assisted by a cardiac rehabilitation program of a university hospital. Data were collected through a form prepared for this study, directly from the patients' medical records and, then, they underwent a quantitative analytical process. Results: One identified that most users assisted are female, married, hypertensive, diabetic, dyslipidemic, obese, and their average age is 58.5 years. It was also found out that most patients participate in the cardiac rehabilitation program for more than three years. Conclusion: One concludes that the nurse plays a key role in the cardiac rehabilitation process, in order to enable a better quality of life and minimize the possibilities of recurrence of cardiovascular events.
