Presents the results of a study that shows many people with risk factors for kidney disease are unaware they face a problem. Additional finding that most of their doctors were often unaware also; Program which is known as KEEP (Kidney Early Evaluation Program) as an ongoing nationwide effort to identify individuals at risk of kidney disease who are also in the early stages; Results of the study that revealed 47 percent of those with at least one risk factor had the condition but only 3 percent knew it; Statistics on kidney disease in the US; Notes on the study participants; How the determination of disease was made; Need for doctors to test early and act quickly; Possible relationship between kidney disease and heart disease.
