- Title
A WEDDING AT INDEPENDENCE, CALIFORNIA IN 1876.
- Abstract
The article offers information on the wedding ceremony of County Treasurer Henry M. Isaacs and Amalie Heissmann in California on January 4, 1876. It mentions that the ceremony required a double ceremony which was the ecclesiastical and civil. It notes that the marriage contract was a puzzle to the unclassical people because all present were asked to remain with heads covered during the ceremony. It is stated that it was almost superfluous to say that H. M. Isaacs and his bride were universally famous and their friends were there in force.
