- Abstract
The article focuses on the case of Addison's disease and severe encephalopathy in a 2.5-year-old boy with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection from Uzbekistan. The infant, who was presented for recurrent encephalopathy and seizures, was born by spontaneous delivery at term. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) determined antibodies to HIV 1 as positive. The HIV infection is said to be caused by blood transfusion.
