The article discusses issues of race and gender in science. Particular focus is given to the book "The Science of Life" by H. G. Wells and Julian Huxley and to the HeLa line of cells, which originated in the body of an African American woman named Henrietta Lacks. Details on the concept of plasticity in human and non-human life are presented. Other topics include eugenics, racism, transhumanism, and materialism.
