- Abstract
The article explores the seizure of the "Portrait of Wally," a painting by Egon Schiele in the U.S. in 1999. It mentions that the seizure caused a commotion in the art world, which was concerned largely on future art loan prospects. It states that since the seizure of the painting, the executive branch has applied civil forfeiture in retrieving other three paintings that are looted by Nazi and has discussed settlements with no proceedings filed.
