- Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the Industry 4.0 knowledge levels and digital competence levels of geography teachers. In the research, a semi-structured interview form was prepared to determine the Industry 4.0 knowledge levels and digital competence levels of geography teachers. In the semi-structured interview form, there are 12 open-ended questions to measure teachers' Industry 4.0 knowledge levels and determine their digital competence levels. The semi-structured interview form was applied to 20 geography teachers working in Mudanya, Yıldırım, Osmangazi and Nilüfer districts of Bursa. It was concluded that 50% of the geography teachers participating in the study did not know the definition of Industry 4.0, but 50% of them could give examples about Industry 4.0 technologies and 60% of them used Industry 4.0 technologies. It was concluded that teachers were generally able to define digital competence and 50% of them stated that there are achievements related to information and communication technologies in the geography curriculum. In order to improve teachers' Industry 4.0 knowledge and digital competence levels, it is suggested that pre-service and in-service trainings should be provided and software and hardware facilities should be improved in schools.
