In this article, the author discusses the basis for free speech either on autonomy or democracy in the U.S. He notes that a claim on the significance of certain interests, the definition of powers and duties, and the feasibility of the justifiable powers and duties of agents. He agrees with professor Robert Post that understanding the interest guiding freedom of expression is required in the understanding the coverage of constitutional protection.
