- Abstract
The article presents a study of dyke swarm exposed in the Valles Marineris troughs called chasmata on Mars and presents observations and major implications for their formation mechanisms. It presents a survey of dykes, CTX images, and CRISM spectral data for mafic composition. It also discusses formation of Ophir Chasma which is interpreted to have been tectonic stretching and glacier bed erosion.
