- Abstract
The article discusses the tenuous relationship between the Hungarian "Catholic Autonomy" and the Romanian Greek-Catholic Church in the Austro-Hungarian Empire following World War I. The Catholic Autonomy was a Hungarian political movement that pushed for the democratization of the Hungarian Catholic Church at the expense of the autonomy of the Romanian Greek-Catholic episcopate. Various bills discussing the Autonomy in the Hungarian parliament are analyzed.
