From this survey, three complementary sets of data were reported: the prevalence of intra-operative hypotension; the apparent threshold for when hypotension was treated; and the threshold at which anaesthetists said they would treat. Outcomes As intra-operative hypotension is associated with adverse patient outcomes, anaesthetists may see its occurrence as being reflective of substandard care on their part even though hypotension can arise despite their best efforts and even though it may have been appropriately managed.
