- Title
Unusual embryo structure in viviparous Utricularia nelumbifolia, with remarks on embryo evolution in genus Utricularia.
- Abstract
The article discusses a study that examined whether or not viviparousembryo organs share homology with the cotyledons of Pinguicula and Genlisea and with typical embryo organs of other Utricularia species. It also attempted to determine whether the organs may represent alternative or unique structures. It highlights literature on Utricularia embryos to identify evolutionary trends of embryo structure within the genus.
