- Abstract
The article reports on an agreement signed by Huaneng Group with Shanghai Electric to develop the first research centre of China focusing on lowering power plant emissions. The objective of the research centre is to introduce technology to save 100,000 tons/year (t/y) of carbon dioxide, based on experiments at two coal-fired generators in Huaneng Shanghai Shidongkou's second power plant. According to Shanghai Electric's president, Xu Jianguo, the deal is important for China's coal electricity industry development.
