ZKM-Leserumfrage – Wir möchten mehr über Ihre Interessen erfahren.
- Abstract
The Journal for Conflict Management is conducting a reader survey to learn more about the interests of its readers. The survey is anonymous and takes about 6 minutes. The Statistical Report of the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce highlights interesting trends in the field of arbitration, such as the increasing use of third-party litigation funding and the shortened duration of proceedings. The report also emphasizes that 49 percent of the arbitrators appointed by the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce are women. The Federal Ministry of Justice plans to tighten state supervision of the legal services market and consolidate jurisdiction at the Federal Office of Justice. This is intended to lead to better strategic alignment of supervision. Finally, the German Bundestag has introduced a legal obligation for postal companies to participate in consumer arbitration proceedings in order to enable consumers to assert their claims. However, the annual report of the arbitration board shows that the rate of amicable settlements has only moderately increased and the proportion of inadmissible applications has increased. An evaluation of the new regulation is expected to assess the effect of mandatory participation in consumer arbitration.
