- Abstract
The authors reflect on the study by H. L. Zhang and colleagues on erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) as a biomarker and prognostic factor for Chinese renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients treated with sorafenib. The authors say that ESR indicates systemic inflammatory response and is a well-accepted prognostic biomarker for RCC. The authors add that Zhang and colleagues found a relation between ESR kinetics status and prognosis of Chinese metastatic RCC (mRCC) patients treated with sorafenib.
