- Abstract
The article examines the nature of Western site-specific dance and its ability to influence cultural and social behavioral norms within specific sites. According to the author's definition, site-specific dance is a performance created in response to a specific location in which it is performed. Following the production of the site-specific performance titled "Circulate" at Hawthorn Town Hall in Melbourne, Victoria, most of the audience admitted that they became aware of their surroundings while some claimed that the site inspired formal behavior.
