- Abstract
The article offers information on the history and development of spendthrift trusts, a trust for controlling the spending of a trustee, under the U.S. Uniform Trust Code (U.T.C.). It discusses small trust termination rules particularly, demise of the rule against perpetuities, and two doctrines including Claflin Doctrine developed from the decision of the court case Claflin v. Claflin and Equitable Deviation Doctrine. It analyzes reasons for small trust termination under spendthrift provisions.
