- Title
THE MAILED QUESTIONNAIRE IN PANEL RESEARCH: SOME EMPIRICAL OBSERVATIONS.
- Authors
Lansdowne, Jerry
- Abstract
This study attempts to add to the slowly growing body of knowledge related to panel survey methodology and the mailed questionnaire. The panel of respondents was based on a stratified sample from urban and metropolitan counties. Two sets of data were collected by mail relating to: (1) willingness to serve on a political survey panel, and (2) panel fatigue. Then the nonrespondents from the first- and second-wave mailings were interviewed to determine the reasons for their nonresponse or "fatigue."
