- Abstract
The article presents views from Chinese researchers, business people and expatriates on the matters that should be considered to make China a research and innovation powerhouse. Included are views of Ling-An Wu of the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, about fixing the gender ratio and Wolfgang Hennig of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)-Max Planck Society about education reforms. Views from chief executive Li Gong of Mozilla Online on liberate funding, sociologist Cong Cao of State University of New York on encouraging returnees and director Ming-Wei Wang of the National Center for Drug Screening on building bridges are also presented.
