- Title
Diplomatic incident.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the developments of the DNA tests on the remains of Japanese citizen Megumi Yokota, that was allegedly kidnapped by North Korea in 1977. The General Association of Korean Residents in Japan celebrated diplomatic victory to celebrate the birthday of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il. The Japanese government objected to the results of the tests wherein they claimed that the remains were not of Yokota. There were efforts to conduct bilateral talks between both countries, but there is not progress yet.
