- Title
Adorno's Tears: Textures of Philosophical Emotionality.
- Authors
Thiem, Annika
- Abstract
The article offers information on the discourse analysis on how philosophy and thinking can perform responsibly, as both seen through the works of Theodor Adorno. It states that Adorno mainly centralized the style of philosophical argumentation to his philosophy critique, which significantly seeks to expound a changed philosophy that critically reflects on its own epistemic violence. It argues that by attending to the tone and style of philosophy, emotionality of thinking can be considered as a means of reflection which belongs to the text rather than to the audience or thinker. It explains that philosophical emotionality remains discrete against philosophical kitsch, to the extent that emotionality disrupts the connection of the emotional involvement between an individual and the text.
