- Abstract
Emergency situations regarding several buildings, whose beds are composed of swelling Jurassic clays, are examined. It is shown that the deformation properties of the clays, which had caused nonuniform deformation of the buildings varied as a result of a change in the stress state of the soil stratum during the opening of the trenches and its having gone for a prolonged time without being surcharged. Nonuniformity of building deformation also depends on the inhomogeneity of the bed soils. Injection of a sand-cement grout into the dense Jurassic clays does not result in a significant change in their deformation properties.
