- Abstract
The article presents the comparison of short-form estimation methods in the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (WISC) in Juvenile public offenders. Representative examples of the five short-form estimation methods for the WISC outlined were compared in male and female juvenile public offenders. Significant differences in mean discrepancy IQ scores between the various estimation methods and sex differences in the short-forms were obtained. The findings indicate that it would be advisable prior to the utilization of a short-form WISC in a population that differs significantly from the standardization population to determine whether the findings in the normative population are applicable in the new population.
