- Abstract
Inferior Alveolar Nerve Paresthesia (IANP) is a neurosensory impairment with sensory and parasthesias disturbances at mandibular region, lower lip and mento. IANP is a major concern to pacients and surgeons as a very often postoperative complications in orthognathic surgery. IANP reverts most often spontaneously, but parasthesia persist during two years at 85% of cases. Nowdays there is no effective treatment for INAP, that does Acupuncture results a valid therapeutic approach. This article describes a clinical case of INAP, to explain a possibility of treatment protocol for this disturbance and to improve understanding the way acupuncture can help to improve postoperative complications on inferior alveolar nerve damage, without losing the point that chinese medicine see the human being as an all and do not split complaints from the general picture of pacient, that makes possible to treat the trouble in his globality and reach better and faster clinical results.
