Water professionals from the NGWA and the Water Quality Association attended the 2024 Smart Water Policies Fly-In in Washington, D.C. The event focused on advocacy, education, and collaboration regarding water quality, sustainability, and public health. The professionals participated in informative sessions and discussions to shape smart groundwater policies. The event included educational policy panels, presentations from policymakers and regulators, and individual meetings with lawmakers to advocate for NGWA policy priorities. NGWA also organized a webinar on virus risk in managed aquifer recharge projects and addressed stormwater pollutant impacts to groundwater. Additionally, NGWA held a conference on PFAS contamination and responded to the EPA's proposed rule on PFAS regulation.
