- Abstract
This paper describes a Group Relations Conference (GRC) that took place in 2017 in Dublin Ireland, directed by Simon Western and hosted by Irish Group Relations Organisation (IGRO). It was motivated by a desire to experiment with the conference design so that it better reflected today's organisations and their wider influencing contexts. To achieve this, we also needed to re-think the style and disposition of the conference leadership. Our intention was to find a way of re-creating some of the radical changes taking place in organisations and society due to the rise of the network society (Castell's 2000) and our age of 'Precarious Interdependence' (Western 2020). With this in mind, IGRO invited Simon Western to be conference director and worked with him to design a conference informed by his Eco-Leadership and Analytic-Network frames of thinking.
