- Abstract
Considering the guidelines which handle Nursing Graduation in our country and some debates about teacher training, this study presents the results of a survey in national Nursing journals from the interest in investigating published research in this area of knowledge that approached the Nurse's training for teaching. For such, we proceeded with the systematization of data called 'State of the Art', which enabled the survey and presentation of a scientific productions overview that deal with teacher training in the Nursing area, in Brazil, covering the period from 2000 to 2016 and in indexed periodicals. From the 12,246 papers researched, 17 composed this research corpus, whose categorization was established based on the assumptions of Discursive Textual Analysis. It was evidenced that a great part of the scientific production discusses questions related to the care aspects of nursing, leaving the preparation for the exercise of teaching by the nurse as secondary importance. The four constituted categories present the main challenges in teacher training in the Nursing area, such as the lack or insufficiency of pedagogical training and the plurality of activities in multiple working days that the nurse teacher has exerted, which prevents him from maintaining his focus on teaching.
